RARE, antique German bisque character toddler doll c1900 mkd: Nockler & Tittel
This is an absolutely delightful, 10″ tall, antique bisque sockethead, character toddler girl doll manufactured in Germany, circa 1900 and marked only with incised letters and number: N & T 2 (Nockler & Tittel) with the additional incised size number 2 at the base of the sockethead. She is all original (head, body, wig and pate) with a fabulous, chunky composition, jointed toddler body having realistic body structure including chubby legs with molded and painted brown, Mary-Jane shoes with single straps. She has dark blue, sleep glass eyes with finely painted upper & lower eyelashes, multi-stroke brows to match her short brown human hair wig, a delicate open mouth with two upper teeth and lovely cheek blush and complexion and is jointed at shoulders and hips with a swivel neck. She wears an antique organdy dress with blue flower print, large collar and lace & ribbon trim with large matching organdy bonnet with lined brim and organdy panties. She is in excellent condition with no hairlines, no chips or nicks, no repairs, no stains or fading, no repaint and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Her equally appealing male, character toddler friend, Franz Schmidt #1295, musical tree and puppy dog pals are not included and listed separately. Don’t they make a wonderful family group?
