Victoria, doll by Edith Schmidt. Cloth covered porcelain head, handpainted.
I bought Victoria at a doll show from Edith Schmidt for $155. Her head was fashioned & put in a kiln, then cloth fitted to the head. Edith painted her face, added the wig, & sewed the dress. The dress is a floral, Victorian style with an eyelet ruffled edge. A cotton slip with eyelet ruffle is under the dress. Under that you find pantaloons made as the slip. You see black tights with Victorian lace up boots. Truly a loving hand worked her magic in creating “Victoria.”
