DESCRIPTION:For sale is this scarce and simply adorable, early 20th century American, circa 1900, piece of period, antique cereal advertising in the form of a color lithographed, stuffed fabric female doll, called Miss Korn-Krisp, for the dry cereal of the same name. The doll’s fairly uncommon and for good reason, since its entirely cloth fabric make-up, would have easily torn at the sewn edges and the stuffing would have slowly leached out from the insides of this fantastic, period soft cloth doll. The color lithography shows a young girl with brown hair and eyes, wearing knickers and a sewn-in orange silk ribbon, laced around her shoulders. She has lacey knicker bottoms, is wearing brown wool socks and soft, buttoned orange leather shoes. There’s evidence of a few previous and quite carefully sewn old repairs, indicating this doll was previously played with and formerly used by its once young owner. The colors of the printed lithography are still quite vivid and saturated, displaying near their originally constituted intensity and strength. 120 years old and counting. Great.
