Early 7 1/2″ Seated Japanese Gofun Gosho Ningyo Doll, circa 1940
It is made of wood with wood-straw filling. The head is coated with a crushed eggshell paste that appears to be intact. There are black glass inset eyes and black tufted hair. The clothing is a typical Japanese silk kimono that appears in good condition.

She is not jointed but her head does turn. I thought I would leave it up to the new owner to decide how to clean her up. On the back, the original owner wrote 1941 in pen. I am guessing that’s why this doll is from the 1940’s?.
