RARE 18″, antique bisque, Nippon HILDA character baby doll
Here is one of the finest Japanese versions of Kestner’s popular, antique bisque, character HILDA baby doll, measuring 18+” long. Incised on the back of her sockethead: B9 (over) RE NIPPON (within a diamond) circa 1914-21, she has a beautifully molded and painted bisque socket head as well as a wonderful, very fine quality, large composition, five-piece baby body with fine molding including finger and toe details as shown. Her beautiful, life-like blue glass, sleep eyes have finely painted, upper & lower eyelashes. She has multi-stroke brows and an open mouth with two upper teeth and tongue along with perfect complexion, blushed cheeks and dark blonde, human hair baby-style wig. Her fine quality, chubby antique baby body has all the original paint finish with darling chubby dimpled knees, fingers and toes with no repainting or repairs. She wears wonderful, antique baby clothing, leather booties and cloth diaper. She is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, no hairlines or repairs and no damages, wonderful, heavy chunky original body with original painted finish, no stains or odors and from a smoke free, loving ♥ home. She is on a solid Kestner five-piece composite body with all original finish. The blushing at joints and red lines on the fingers and toes are intact. Bisque quality is excellent, smooth and without any kiln specks or cracks.
