Beautiful large 30” antique German bisque socket head doll by Kestner, marked “Made in Germany 16 1/2 196,” featuring enormous hazel sleep eyes, fur brow, open mouth with upper teeth, dramatic antique-style red curls, and a beautifully shaped original composition body.

She is one of the pre 1900’s earlier dolls from C. L. Kling, before he started using the ‘bell’ that only had the mold number incised. She has a very nice jointed leather body that only has a small tear at the shoulder where a repair was done.
