2x Too cute twins 2000 toys the girl is talking boy no, both VG 15″ tall

i got these at an estate sale, both look very good with only minor stains and wear. I turned the on switch on the girls bottom and it started talking. Same did not turn on the boy. I did not open battery terminals requiring screwdriver. Could be the boy works with better batteries but not certain. Each doll weighs almost two pounds.
