The face appears ceramic/porcelain; the body is papier-mâché with a hard painted finish and wax overlay that preserves the drape and trim details. Estimated late-19th to early-20th century. Construction note: The interior support is ahollow composite/plaster column with faint embossed marks—clearly visible from the underside (see last photo).
